The approval process, New Family Social membership and how we can support you
It's great that you are here.
Whatever brought you to find out a little more about LGBT+ adoption and fostering, New Family Social is a great place to start.
Since 2007 we've been at the forefront of change in the UK's provision of homes for children in care.
Before legal changes, it was difficult and challenging to be taken seriously by social workers. LGBT+ couples couldn't legally adopt directly and a small number of LGBT+ singles fought through the paperwork.
In 2019, 1 in 7 adoptions in England were to same-sex couples.
You could be part of next year's statistics.
If you're LGBT+, at least 21 years old and live in Britain, you can adopt. This means you can become the new, permanent parent for a child or children who can’t live with their birth parents.
Gain access to national events, peer support, forums and summer camp. If you're registered with one of our member adoption or fostering agencies then it's free.
If you're LGBT+, at least 18 years old and live in Britain, you can foster. Children, from babies to teenagers need stable loving families who care.
If you've been approved to adopt then through this service you can access children's profiles from our member agencies.
